Terms of Service

When using Piece Job, all service providers operate strictly as independent contractors and not as employees, agents, or representatives of Piece Job. Piece Job does not provide tools, equipment, uniforms, training, set working hours, or reimburse expenses, and does not control how services are performed. Workers are solely responsible for the quality, timeliness, and completion of the services they accept, as well as for ensuring they possess the required skills, experience, and tools.
Any misrepresentation of skills, availability, or identity constitutes a violation of these terms. All users are expected to conduct themselves lawfully and respectfully; prohibited conduct includes theft, assault, harassment, discrimination, hate speech, intimidation, or any form of egregious misconduct.
Workers must maintain honest and accurate availability schedules, and any rescheduling within 24 hours requires mutual confirmation through the in-app chat. Clients are responsible for providing reasonable access, accurate job details, and necessary materials required to complete a job, and must comply with cancellation and fee policies for last-minute changes.
Piece Job is not liable for task outcomes, delays, failures, damages, or injuries arising from services performed through the platform; however, where applicable, Piece Job may offer limited protection for certain incidents, subject to investigation, cooperation from involved parties, and predefined limits.
By using Piece Job, you agree to comply with all applicable local and international laws, platform policies, category-specific service rules, and to cooperate fully in dispute resolution processes, investigations, or legal compliance matters, including the sharing of relevant information where required by law.
By accessing or using Piece Job, you agree to these Terms of Service.
a) Age Requirement
To create an account, access, or use the Piece Job Platform in any manner, you must be at least eighteen (18) years old. By registering for an account or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements and comply with these Terms.
Piece Job does not permit individuals under the age of 18 to create accounts, offer services, request work, or otherwise participate in Platform activities. This requirement is consistent with applicable child-protection, labor, and data-protection laws in Botswana, including the Children’s Act and the Employment Act, as well as regional and international standards that prohibit child labor and protect minors from economic exploitation and unsafe working conditions.
b) Consequences of Minor Registration
Piece Job does not knowingly collect personal data from, contract with, or provide services to minors. If we become aware that an account has been created or used by a person under the age of 18, we reserve the right to take immediate action, including but not limited to:
- Suspending or permanently terminating the account
- Restricting access to the Platform
- Removing or anonymizing associated personal data, where lawful
- Taking any additional steps required to comply with applicable child-protection, labor, and data-protection laws
Such actions may be taken without prior notice and do not entitle the user to compensation or restoration of access.
c) Individual User Verification
To ensure platform safety, trust, and compliance, Piece Job may require identity verification for individual users. This may include verification of age and identity through government-issued identification, phone number verification, selfies, or other reasonable verification measures.
Verification is used to:
- Confirm eligibility and age compliance
- Prevent fraud, impersonation, and misuse
- Maintain a safe and trustworthy marketplace
Failure to complete required verification may result in limited access, suspension, or termination of an account.
d) Business, Company, and Employer Verification
Businesses, companies, or organizations registering on Piece Job must be legally registered entities and may be required to provide business registration documents, tax identification numbers, proof of address, and authorized representative details.
The individual creating or managing a business account represents and warrants that they are at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind the business to these Terms. Piece Job reserves the right to verify business information and suspend or terminate business accounts that provide false, misleading, or incomplete information.
e) App Store & Platform Compliance
Eligibility and verification requirements are enforced in accordance with Piece Job’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and the safety, transparency, and user-protection standards of Google Play and the Apple App Store. Continued use of the Platform is conditional upon ongoing compliance with these requirements.
a) Account Registration & Required Information
To create and maintain an account on the Piece Job Platform, users must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. Registration is subject to verification and approval.
For individual users:
- Full legal name
- National identification number or passport number
- Phone number and email address
- Profile photograph or image
- Location details, including general location and device-based coordinates (where enabled)
- Proof of residential address
- Emergency contact details
For organizations, companies, or businesses:
- Registered business name
- Business registration documents
- Authorized representative’s full name and identification or passport details
- Business contact details (phone number, email address)
- Business address and proof of address
- Location details, including operational location and coordinates (where applicable)
- Emergency or secondary contact details
All users agree to provide truthful and lawful information and to promptly update their account details if any information changes.
b) Verification Process
Piece Job may conduct identity, age, location, and business verification to ensure platform safety, eligibility, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Verification may include document review, image or selfie verification, location confirmation, and cross-checking of submitted information.
Verification is required for both individual and organizational accounts. Failure to complete, maintain, or pass verification may result in restricted functionality, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of the account.
c) Account Security & Responsibility
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activities conducted under their account. Sharing login credentials, allowing unauthorized access, or misusing an account is strictly prohibited.
You agree to notify Piece Job immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account or a security breach. Piece Job is not responsible for losses arising from unauthorized access resulting from a user’s failure to safeguard their credentials.
d) Compliance & Enforcement
Piece Job reserves the right to review, verify, suspend, restrict, or terminate any account that provides false, misleading, incomplete, or unlawful information, or that otherwise violates these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or applicable laws.
Account registration and verification practices are enforced in accordance with Piece Job’s Privacy Policy and the safety, transparency, and data-protection requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Piece Job is a digital marketplace and technology platform that enables users to discover, post, and connect for short-term, freelance, or task-based work opportunities. Piece Job provides the technical infrastructure, tools, and features that allow users to interact; however, Piece Job does not employ, recruit, supervise, manage, or contract workers, and does not act as an employer, agent, broker, or representative of any user.
Piece Job does not guarantee job availability, work volume, income levels, payment outcomes, or employment relationships. All work arrangements, compensation terms, performance expectations, and outcomes are determined solely by the users involved. Users are independently responsible for complying with applicable labor, tax, and regulatory obligations arising from their activities on the Platform.
Platform Ownership vs User Accounts
The Piece Job Platform, including its software, systems, design, branding, algorithms, and infrastructure, is owned and operated by Piece Job and remains its exclusive property. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to access and use the Platform in accordance with these Terms.
Each user retains ownership of their user account and the content they submit, post, or upload to the Platform, including profiles, job postings, messages, ratings, reviews, and uploaded files. By using the Platform, users grant Piece Job a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, process, and transmit such content solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the Platform.
No Employment Relationship
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, agency, or joint venture relationship between Piece Job and any user, or between users themselves. Users acknowledge that they participate in the Platform as independent parties and that Piece Job’s role is limited to providing access to the digital service.
By creating an account or using the Piece Job Platform, you agree to use the Platform responsibly, lawfully, and in accordance with these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and all applicable local, national, and international laws. Users are solely responsible for their conduct, communications, content, and activities on the Platform.
a) General User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information at all times
- Use the Platform only for lawful, legitimate, and intended purposes
- Respect the rights, safety, and dignity of other users
- Comply with applicable labor, tax, employment, and regulatory obligations
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of your account credentials
Each user account operates independently and in isolation. Activity, content, reputation, or enforcement actions associated with one account do not affect or transfer to another user’s account unless required by law or related to fraud, abuse, or coordinated misuse.
b) Prohibited Conduct
You may not engage in any activity that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, or abusive, including but not limited to:
- Fraud, impersonation, or misrepresentation of identity, qualifications, or business status
- Harassment, intimidation, abuse, hate speech, or discriminatory conduct
- Posting false, misleading, or deceptive job listings or service offers
- Circumventing verification, security, or access controls
- Soliciting payments, services, or information outside permitted Platform processes where restricted
- Uploading or sharing content that infringes intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal protections
- Using the Platform for illegal activities, unsafe work practices, or exploitative purposes
Violation of these rules may result in account restriction, suspension, or permanent termination.
c) Platform Use Rules – Employers / Job Posters
Users posting jobs, tasks, or opportunities (“Employers”) agree to:
- Post lawful, accurate, and transparent job descriptions
- Comply with applicable labor, safety, and wage laws
- Avoid discriminatory, exploitative, or unsafe job practices
- Honor agreed terms with workers, including scope, timing, and compensation
- Communicate respectfully and professionally
Employers acknowledge that they are solely responsible for their hiring decisions, agreements, and compliance obligations.
d) Platform Use Rules – Workers / Service Providers
Users offering services or accepting work (“Workers”) agree to:
- Accurately represent skills, availability, and qualifications
- Perform agreed tasks responsibly and lawfully
- Comply with safety, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate honestly and professionally with Employers
Workers acknowledge that Piece Job does not guarantee job availability, income, or outcomes.
e) Enforcement & App Store Compliance
Piece Job reserves the right to investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate any account that violates these Terms, platform policies, or applicable laws. Enforcement actions are applied per account and do not automatically affect other users. These rules are enforced in accordance with the safety, transparency, and user-protection standards required by Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Piece Job is built to promote respectful, professional, and safe interactions between users. All users are expected to engage with one another in a lawful, honest, and respectful manner when communicating, posting content, or participating in any activity on the Platform.
a) Respectful Engagement
Users must communicate in a professional, courteous, and non-threatening manner across messages, job postings, profiles, reviews, ratings, and uploaded content. Harassment, intimidation, coercion, bullying, or conduct intended to harm, threaten, embarrass, or exploit another user is strictly prohibited.
b) Prohibited Content
- Explicit, pornographic, or sexually suggestive videos, images, audio, or language
- Content involving sexual exploitation, nudity, or inappropriate depictions of individuals
- Hate speech, discriminatory language, or content promoting violence
- Threats, blackmail, extortion, or coercive behavior
- Bullying, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact
- Malware, viruses, harmful code, or attempts to compromise system security
- False, misleading, or deceptive information
c) Prohibited Conduct
- Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or business status
- Impersonate another person, business, or organization
- Use the Platform for illegal, unsafe, fraudulent, or exploitative activities
- Attempt to manipulate, intimidate, or extort other users
- Circumvent Platform safeguards, moderation, or enforcement mechanisms
d) Enforcement & Safety
Piece Job reserves the right to review, moderate, restrict, remove, or disable access to any content or account that violates these Community Guidelines, the Terms of Service, or applicable laws. Violations may result in temporary suspension, permanent termination, or reporting to relevant authorities, where required. These guidelines are enforced to maintain a safe and trusted environment and to comply with the content, conduct, and user-safety standards of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Piece Job is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and trustworthy Platform. To protect users and the integrity of the service, Piece Job reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, applicable laws, or that otherwise poses a risk to users or the Platform. Enforcement actions may be taken with or without prior notice, depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
a) Reporting, Blocking & User Safety Tools
Users are provided with tools to report, flag, and block other users or content that is abusive, unsafe, misleading, fraudulent, or otherwise violates Platform rules. Reports may be reviewed by Piece Job’s moderation team and may result in corrective or enforcement action.
Blocking tools allow users to limit unwanted interactions and protect their personal safety. Abuse of reporting or blocking tools for harassment or retaliation is prohibited.
b) Moderation Process & Appeals
Piece Job may review accounts, communications, job postings, messages, reviews, ratings, and uploaded content to assess compliance with Platform policies. Moderation actions may include content removal, warnings, temporary restrictions, suspension, or termination.
Where appropriate, users may be given an opportunity to appeal certain enforcement decisions by contacting Piece Job support. Appeals are reviewed in good faith; however, Piece Job’s decisions following review are final where permitted by law.
c) Content Removal & Repeat-Offender Policy
Piece Job reserves the right to remove, restrict, or disable access to any content that violates these Terms or applicable laws. Users who repeatedly violate Platform rules may be classified as repeat offenders and subject to escalating enforcement measures, including permanent account termination.
Accounts associated with coordinated abuse, fraud, impersonation, harassment, or safety threats may be terminated immediately.
d) Reviews, Ratings & Severe Misconduct
Reviews and ratings must be honest, factual, and respectful. The following are strictly prohibited and may result in severe consequences:
- False, malicious, or deliberately harmful reviews
- Reviews intended to bully, extort, threaten, or defame other users
- Coordinated review manipulation or retaliation
- Reviews containing hate speech, harassment, or explicit language
- Severely abusive or malicious reviews may be removed without notice, and associated accounts may be permanently terminated
e) Effect of Termination
Termination or suspension applies only to the affected user account and does not impact other users. Upon termination:
- Access to the Platform may be immediately revoked
- Content may be removed or restricted
- Data may be retained or deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law
- Piece Job is not liable for losses arising from enforcement actions taken in accordance with these Terms
f) App Store & Legal Compliance
This section is designed to comply with the user-safety, transparency, and enforcement requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store, as well as applicable consumer-protection and data-protection laws.
Piece Job encourages users to attempt to resolve disputes amicably and in good faith through direct communication where possible.
Except where prohibited by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the use of the Platform, these Terms of Service, or any services provided through Piece Job shall be resolved through mediation or binding arbitration, rather than in court.
Arbitration or mediation shall be conducted by a neutral and independent third party in accordance with applicable rules and procedures, and may take place in a mutually agreed location or remotely. Each party shall bear its own costs unless otherwise required by law or agreed upon.
Nothing in this section prevents a user from seeking interim or injunctive relief, reporting unlawful conduct to relevant authorities, or pursuing claims that are legally required to be resolved in a court of law.
This Dispute Resolution clause is intended to comply with the fairness, transparency, and consumer-protection requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
The Piece Job Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While Piece Job takes reasonable steps to operate and maintain the Platform securely and reliably, use of the Platform is at your own risk.
a) Scope of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Piece Job, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, partners, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of income, loss of business opportunities, loss of data, reputational harm, emotional distress, or economic losses arising from or related to:
- Use of or inability to use the Platform
- Interactions, communications, or agreements between users
- Job outcomes, performance, quality of work, or payment disputes
- User-generated content, reviews, or ratings
- Unauthorized access, security incidents, or data loss beyond reasonable control
b) Cause and Effect Clarification
Users acknowledge that Piece Job acts solely as a technology platform facilitating connections between independent users. Piece Job does not control, supervise, or guarantee user behavior, job performance, contractual outcomes, or compliance with legal obligations. As a result, losses, damages, or disputes arising from user interactions are the responsibility of the users involved.
c) Platform Responsibilities & Mitigation Measures
Piece Job remains responsible for maintaining reasonable technical and organizational security safeguards; providing access to reporting, blocking, and moderation tools; enforcing platform rules and community standards; and acting on verified safety, abuse, or policy violations. These measures reduce risk but do not eliminate all risks.
d) Maximum Liability (Where Permitted by Law)
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, Piece Job’s total cumulative liability shall be limited to the amount, if any, paid by the user to Piece Job in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or the minimum amount required by law, whichever is greater.
e) Consumer Rights & App Store Compliance
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including statutory consumer rights. This Limitation of Liability is intended to comply with the fairness, transparency, and consumer-protection requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
a) User Indemnification Obligations
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Piece Job, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, partners, and service providers from and against any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use or misuse of the Platform
- Your interactions, agreements, or disputes with other users
- Content you submit, post, upload, or transmit through the Platform
- Your violation of these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, or applicable laws
- Any misrepresentation, fraud, or unlawful conduct attributable to your account
b) Piece Job Compensation & Liability Carve-Out
Piece Job will accept responsibility and provide compensation only where it is conclusively established that the harm, loss, or damage suffered by a user was caused solely, directly, and exclusively by Piece Job’s own actions or failures, and not contributed to by another user, third party, external systems, or user misuse.
Compensation applies only where Piece Job is found to be 100% directly at fault, and only to the extent required by applicable law.
c) Exclusions & Limitations
Piece Job does not indemnify users for disputes between users; job performance, payment issues, or contractual disagreements; user-generated content; or acts of other users or third parties. Any compensation or liability accepted by Piece Job is subject to the Limitation of Liability section and applicable consumer-protection laws.
d) App Store & Legal Compliance
This Indemnification clause is intended to be fair, transparent, and compliant with the consumer-protection, safety, and dispute-handling standards required by Google Play and the Apple App Store, and does not limit rights that cannot be lawfully excluded.
These Terms of Service, and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Piece Job Platform, its services, or these Terms, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Botswana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to the Dispute Resolution section, the courts of the Republic of Botswana shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine any matters arising under or in connection with these Terms, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes mandatory consumer rights or legal protections that cannot be waived under applicable law. This clause is intended to comply with the fairness, transparency, and consumer-protection standards required by Google Play and the Apple App Store.
All intellectual property rights in and to the Piece Job Platform, including but not limited to software, source code, databases, system architecture, algorithms, designs, user interface elements, text, graphics, trademarks, logos, service marks, and brand features, are owned by or licensed to Piece Job and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Except as expressly permitted, users may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, reproduce, or otherwise exploit any part of the Platform or Piece Job intellectual property without prior written authorization.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Piece Job’s intellectual property to users. Users retain ownership of the content they submit or upload, subject to the limited license granted to Piece Job for platform operation as described in these Terms.
This section is intended to comply with the transparency, ownership, and user-rights requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store, and does not affect rights that cannot be lawfully excluded.
The Piece Job Platform and all services, features, content, and functionality made available through it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Piece Job does not warrant or guarantee that:
- The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Jobs, services, or opportunities will be available at any time
- Any user, employer, or worker will perform as promised
- Information provided by users is accurate, complete, or reliable
- The Platform will meet a user’s specific expectations or requirements
Piece Job expressly disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and reliability.
Users acknowledge that use of the Platform is at their own discretion and risk, and that Piece Job is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcomes of any work arrangements, interactions, or agreements between users.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot be lawfully disclaimed under applicable law. This disclaimer is intended to comply with fairness, transparency, and consumer-protection requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Piece Job shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from events beyond its reasonable control. These events may include natural disasters, acts of God, fires, floods, epidemics or pandemics, strikes, civil unrest, terrorism or war, governmental actions, power failures, internet outages, system failures, or failures of third-party service providers.
During a force majeure event, Piece Job will take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact and restore Platform services as soon as practicable, where possible. Performance of affected obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the event without liability.
Nothing in this section limits rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law. This clause is intended to comply with app-store fairness and transparency requirements.
Piece Job is currently operating as a prototype and pilot platform for 2026, and its features, functionality, and legal terms may evolve as the service is tested, improved, and expanded. As a result, these Terms of Service may be updated, modified, or replaced from time to time.
When changes are made, the updated Terms will be made available within the Platform and/or through official communication channels, along with a revised “Last Updated” date. Where changes are material or affect user rights or obligations, Piece Job will take reasonable steps to notify users through in-app notifications or other appropriate means, in accordance with Google Play and Apple App Store transparency requirements.
Continued access to or use of the Platform after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be lawfully excluded under applicable consumer-protection laws.
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional policies or guidelines referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Piece Job regarding your access to and use of the Platform, and supersede any prior agreements, understandings, or representations, whether written or oral.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No failure or delay by Piece Job in enforcing any right or provision under these Terms shall constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

Welcome to PieceJob. PieceJob is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application, website, and related services.
PieceJob provides a trading center which enables communication between users. Account holders may be Clients, Companies, Organizations, Freelancers or Site Visitors. For information about how Clients or Employers use your personal information please contact them directly.
We comply with global data protection frameworks including:

- CCPA (California)
- POPIA (South Africa)
- Botswana Data Protection Act
- Other applicable laws in your jurisdiction
By using PieceJob, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
a) Account Information
To create, verify, and manage your account on the Piece Job Platform, we collect certain personal information that you voluntarily provide during registration and account use. This may include your full legal name, national identification number or passport number, phone number, email address, profile image, and general & precise location details such as your country, city and coordinates.
Where permitted or required by applicable law, we may request additional information to verify your identity, enhance platform security, and prevent fraud or misuse. Such information may include government-issued identification, linked social media accounts, and emergency contact details.
How We Use Your Information
- Creating and maintaining your Piece Job account
- Verifying user identity and eligibility
- Enabling communication between employers and service providers
- Improving platform security and preventing fraud, impersonation, or abuse
- Providing customer support and responding to inquiries
- Complying with legal, regulatory, and law-enforcement obligations
How We Store Your Information
Personal information is securely stored using industry-standard safeguards and may be stored on secure servers operated by Piece Job or trusted third-party service providers.
Who Has Access to Your Information
Access is controlled and limited to individuals and entities that require such access to operate, secure, and support the Piece Job Platform. This may include authorized Piece Job personnel, affiliates, trusted service providers (hosting, verification, security, analytics, support tools), and government authorities where required by law.
Piece Job does not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.
b) Usage Data
When you access or use PieceJob, we automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, and application usage logs. This is used to monitor, analyze, and optimize performance and reliability.
c) Location Data
Piece Job uses mapping services to enable location-based features such as nearby jobs, estimated distances, directions, and location-based search. With your permission, we access your device’s location information (precise GPS or approximate location). Location is not collected continuously unless location-dependent features are actively used.
d) Communications

User-generated content may include job postings, bids, reviews, ratings, messages, comments, and uploaded files. It is used for operational purposes (display, communication, transparency, trust, and decision-making). Content may be reviewed or moderated where necessary.

We generate system data such as activity logs, timestamps, notifications, job status updates, error reports, and security logs to ensure platform integrity, dispute support, fraud prevention, and compliance.
